Background

Shayna has worked for Columbia Gorge Community College since 2004 in many different areas. She began as an assistant in the President’s Office and Human Resources and has since gained experience developing student leaders in Student Life and, in addition to her work with Gorge Literacy, is the Advisor for Disability Resources. She has been in her role with Gorge Literacy since 2007 and has found her educational background in Psychology and Counseling has helped immensely in all of her experiences at the college.

Shayna says, "I am so grateful to have this opportunity to meet all of the courageous individuals who come to Gorge Literacy for assistance with their goals, as well as the incredible volunteers that work with us and their learners each and every day."

I am always amazed at the relationships that are formed through the tutoring process and the impact that relationship has in the lives of learners and tutors!
